We started Clarity because we wanted a truly professional, long-term Answer Engine Optimization partner. One that focused on entity clarity, schema integrity, and genuine AI recommendation readiness, but we couldn’t find one.
So we built it ourselves.
Our Story
Between us we've spent years in industries as varied as the military, defence, logistics, consulting, pest management and financial services; but we've always maintained a deep interest in the technology that enables everything we do, and we've always focused on using Lean principles to make these industries deliver what's needed, where it's needed, in the amount that's needed.
Around 1 year ago we bought a custom apparel and promotional goods business. We did what most people with our background would do - we set aboout optimizing the processes to deliver more value to our customers, faster.
The problem was. We provide a great service, we have a 5 star average Google review, our customers love us, but we couldn't get AI to recommend us, and we couldn't understand why. AI barely knew we existed as a serious option for our ideal customer.
What followed was 6 months of diving into Answer Engine Optimization. After that it became clear that we understood the mechanics of entity clarity, schema integrity, and long-term recommendation readiness far better than most agencies and website builders. The gap was obvious, and frustrating.
That frustration, combined with a strong background in Lean principles: humility, respect for the customer, respect for resources, and continuous improvement; led me to start Clarity Digital Advisory. We exist to deliver the serious, production-grade AEO work that we wished existed: methodical, honest, and built for compounding results over time rather than short-term wins.

Matt is the co-founder of Clarity Digital Advisory. With a technical background and over a decade of operational leadership in consulting, logistics, transportation and now owning a custom apparel and promotional goods povider, he has spent years managing complex, customer-facing businesses on both sides of the Atlantic.
His transatlantic experience, spanning operations in the UK, Europe, and the United States, gave him a sharp understanding of how digital platforms actually perform in real-world conditions. The more he worked with websites and digital systems, the more he saw the widening gap between what looked good to humans and what AI systems could reliably understand and recommend.
After an intensive six-month deep dive into Answer Engine Optimization, entity architecture, schema strategy, and AI recommendation mechanics, Matt realized that most agencies and website builders were approaching the problem incorrectly: treating AEO as short-term SEO rather than a long-term credibility and entity clarity challenge.
This insight, combined with his longstanding commitment to Lean principles: humility, respect for customers and resources, and continuous improvement; led him to create the service he had been searching for but could not find.

Dan is co-founder and Managing Director of Clarity Digital Advisory for the UK and Europe. With a diverse background spanning leadership in the Royal Navy, sales, technical operations, and business consulting, he brings a disciplined, pragmatic approach to helping businesses navigate the complexities of AI-driven discovery.
After serving in the Royal Navy and later gaining broad operational experience across sales, project management (PRINCE2 Practitioner), and client-facing roles, including international work in Australia, Dan developed a deep appreciation for disciplined execution, clear systems, and continuous improvement. His career has consistently involved translating complex technical and operational challenges into practical, measurable outcomes.
Recognising the profound shift AI represents in how businesses are discovered and recommended, Dan joined forces with Matt to build Clarity Digital Advisory. He leads the UK and European operations, focusing on delivering production-grade Answer Engine Optimization strategies that prioritise entity clarity, schema integrity, and long-term recommendation readiness.
